Support the Danvers Rail-Trail!
We are Danvers folks working for safer biking and walking conditions in Danvers since 2002. We've sponsored bike helmet give-aways, free bike rack installations and now the beginning construction of a rail trail across Danvers.
We welcome your support. You can pick up trash during your walks, send us your photographs, write letters to your selectmen or join us at our events. We've got more suggestions on how you can help and we accept donations!

Your Questions
-
Where can I get help with a hazardous sidewalk? - Report it to the DPW by going to www.danvers.govoffice.com, click on Public Works and then on Contact Form at the top. You can also contact us and we'll try to address it.
- Are residents required to keep their sidewalk clear of cars, vegetation, and litter?
- Anything which is on the home side of the walk way such as vegetation must be kept clear of the sidewalk. The sidewalk should be clear the full width of the hot top surface.
- Does the town own the land for the rail trails?
- The town signed a 99 year lease for $1 with the MBTA in October of 2008 for the Newburyport Branch line which runs from the Peabody to the Wenham line. Other former rail lines have been owned by the town for many years and are used by the Danvers electric company.
