Our Story
Danvers Bi-Peds was formed in 2002 to advocate for rail-trails and improvements in walking and biking conditions throughout Danvers, MA.
The Bi-Peds have held bike helmet give-aways, organized the procurement and installation of free bike racks and run historical education walking tours.
We hold monthly biking/walking/snowshoeing tours and spread the news about group runs and biking tours in Danvers.
We work with other community groups for safer biking and walking in Danvers, teaming with the Danvers Rotary, Danvers Historical Society, Department of Public Works, YMCA, Essex National Heritage Commission, Family Festival, and the Holiday Festival.
The Danvers Bi-Peds were instrumental in seeing the town sign a 99 year lease in October, 2008 with the MBTA paving the way for construction of a rail trail across Danvers.
We welcome all who are interested in supporting improving biking and walking conditions in Danvers to join us.
